What was your favorite book as a child?

The Little Prince by Antoine St. Exupery

Favorite travel spots:

Jiufen, Taiwan. It’s the town that inspired Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away.

Art Process:

My goal when approaching any project is to convey a poignant emotional moment within an imagined narrative. I love focusing on subtle interactive details between characters and environments in an illustration or comic scene; small moments that echo bigger feelings. My process begins with sketching rough compositions that try to zero-in on what those key interactions are and what they symbolize. Then I build upon those anchor points while thinking about mood, color, line, and action to flesh out a complete composition.

Forthcoming books:

Coral, Scholastic Graphix, Spring 2022
